Project Overview<\/h2>\n

Phuoc An Port Project is one of the key port infrastructure developments in Nhon Trach District, Dong Nai Province, Vietnam. Strategically located in the Southern Key Economic Region, the project is expected to strengthen regional logistics capacity and improve connectivity between industrial zones, seaports, and the national transportation network.<\/p>\n

Due to the soft soil conditions across the project site, ground improvement was essential to ensure long-term stability and performance of the infrastructure.<\/p>\n

To support the project, An Thai Geosynthetics supplied 150,000 m\u00b2 of Nonwoven Geotextile 15PE and 30PE for soft ground treatment applications.<\/p>\n

Project Challenges<\/h2>\n

The construction area is characterized by soft clayey soil with low bearing capacity and high compressibility. Ground improvement solutions were therefore required to achieve the following engineering objectives:<\/p>\n

-Separate the soft subgrade from the fill material.
-Prevent contamination between subgrade soil and aggregate layers.
-Improve load distribution across the embankment.
-Maintain filtration and drainage performance within the pavement structure.
-Control long-term settlement and enhance overall foundation stability.<\/p>\n

These requirements are critical for ensuring the durability and service life of port infrastructure constructed on weak ground.<\/p>\n

Installed between the natural subgrade and the fill material, the geotextile performs multiple engineering functions:<\/p>\n

The nonwoven geotextile effectively separates the soft subgrade from the granular fill, preserving the integrity and thickness of the pavement structure while preventing soil contamination.<\/p>\n

Filtration<\/h3>\n

Its filtration capability allows water to pass through while retaining fine soil particles, maintaining long-term soil stability.<\/p>\n

Drainage<\/h3>\n
