PET Geogrid and APT 25 Nonwoven Geotextile for Prenn Pass Landslide Stabilization

Prenn Pass is an important transportation route connecting Da Lat City with surrounding areas. Located in mountainous terrain with steep slopes, the route is affected by complex geological conditions as well as surface water and groundwater. Therefore, slope stability and landslide mitigation are critical to ensuring the safety and long-term performance of the infrastructure.

At the Prenn Pass Landslide Stabilization Project in Lam Dong Province, Vietnam, PET Geogrid 200/100 kN and APT 25 Nonwoven Geotextile were used as part of the geotechnical solution for soil reinforcement and slope stabilization.

PET Geogrid is a geosynthetic reinforcement manufactured from high-tenacity polyester (PET) yarns, providing high tensile strength and good long-term performance for reinforced soil applications.

At the Prenn Pass Landslide Stabilization Project, PET Geogrid 200/100 kN was used as reinforcement within the soil structure.

When installed within compacted fill in accordance with the engineering design, PET Geogrid interacts with the surrounding soil and mobilizes its tensile strength. This reinforcement mechanism helps control deformation, limit displacement and improve the overall stability of the reinforced soil mass.

For transportation infrastructure and geotechnical works, PET Geogrid is commonly used in applications including:

APT 25 Nonwoven Geotextile separates material layers with different properties, helping prevent intermixing between the subgrade soil and overlying materials while maintaining the intended performance of each structural layer.

Its filtration properties allow water to pass through while retaining soil particles according to design requirements, helping control soil migration and support drainage within the structure.

The combination of PET Geogrid 200/100 kN and APT 25 Nonwoven Geotextile therefore provides complementary functions within the landslide stabilization solution: reinforcement from the geogrid, together with separation, filtration and drainage from the nonwoven geotextile.
